Candlewood Suites Fort Collins by IHG

I chose this hotel because it had great ratings and it lived up to the hype. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. I spent 2 hours in the reception area, because my roommate was sleeping in and every person that it was interacted with was treated with kindness and respect When a customer called in trying to book on a night that they were completely full, the front desk staff worked to find them another hotel in the area to stay. On my way out I mentioned I was staying in another city soon, and the front desk clerk started looking at what they had in the area that could help to accommodate me as well. When none of their hotels were within 10 miles of my planned location, she gave me other alternatives of places that she thought would be quality to stay. It was truly an exceptional experience with exceptional customer service.

Very good service from the front desk. Rooms are great with some having nice views of the mountains. Great location within Fort Collins but they do not offer continental breakfast. Still a decent hotel worth visiting.

Addendum: as of December of 2025, I called and they have not upgraded their mattresses nor do they have upgrades planned. I am disappointed because otherwise I liked this lodging. But we cannot consider staying there with my husband's back issues. We'll come back if they get new mattresses. Pros: Staff friendly and helpful. (Quickly met our request for extra blanket and to check our heating system.) Quiet and safe location. Kitchen with refrigerator, cooktop, microwave and dishes to serve two people. Roomy bathroom. Very clean and fresh. Recliner chair in room with lots of closet and desk space. Cons: King-size bed in our suite was very uncomfortable for my spouse who has a bad back. He had to sleep in the recliner chair. We were advised that upgrades are coming which will include new mattresses. Heating and cooling system was difficult to control - if you tried to turn the thermostat down a little, it immediately blasted cold air. We would stay here again, but if you have a bad back, ask how old the mattresses are. Also, I recommend asking for a room away from the back of the mall. Tuesday morning at 6am was garbage pick up day for the adjacent mall, and the trucks dumping the commercial dumpsters were some kind of loud!

Staff was very friendly. The rooms were nice and clean. Temperature controls could use some help to keep a constant room temp at night to not wake from being too cold and then too warm. Hallways had a musty smell but the rooms did not and the elevator could be vacuumed on a more frequent basis with the amount of guests. No pool and no free breakfast are the biggest items holding this hotel back from 5 stars.

Spent two weeks here for work, felt like home! Even found myself telling people I “had to go back home” when I went to my friends and families Thanksgiving celebrations. Will definitely choose this place again if I want a safe, comfortable and peaceful place to stay when I’m out and about or working in Fort Collins!

Great! Business-y hotels are often more board room than bed room but this one is well designed for living & sleeping space. My one gripe is both HVAC units were broken. One of them and its thermostats each have signs pointing to each other to adjust temperature at the other place And the other HVAC unit had a broken temperature control so you couldn't turn the heat down .. only up!

The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and pleasant to speak with. I love that this hotel not only allows dogs, but is very welcoming to travelers' dogs. Our room was clean and well-maintained, as was the entire property. Note: Even though some reviews mention breakfast, it is not provided (but it seems as though it once was). Also, there is no ice machine since there are freezers in the rooms. It's hard to fill a cooler with ice cubes from the freezer. :( While the hotel would appear to be in an ideal location, the road noise is horrific. I'm not a light sleeper, but the noise from cars racing each other or revving their engines up and down the nearby roads kept me awake well into the wee hours of the night. And the mattresses are as hard as rocks. I really enjoyed most of my stay here because of the customer service, but, for me, the road noise is a big issue and I don't think it is one that the hotel can solve.

Donna and her staff are super friendly and accommodating; we've stayed multiple times for business and leisure and always satisfied with hotel, room, and safety; cleaning staff friendly as well; would be nice to have an ice machine on-hand for immediate need but an in-room freezer will eventually make ice; couple of handicap spots away from front area awkward but probably bc of growth; decent lighting in lot
